Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Ron Trzcinski attended Cleveland State University and the University of Virginia. After earning his MBA, he began a twenty year career with Sealy Mattress eventually becoming President of the largest mattress company in the world. In late 1989 Ron resigned from Sealy, and in 1990 founded The Original Mattress Factory. We met with Ron recently, and listened as he provided this overview of The Original Mattress Factory's offerings;
The Original Mattress Factory specializes in offering real value. We make great mattresses and box springs and sell them below the cost of competitive brands. Our competitors manufacture their products and sell them first to retailers, who in turn mark them up and then sell them to you. We cut out the middle man by making our own beds and selling them to you directly, which results in a top quality product at a price that is lower than you would pay elsewhere. That is what we call real value!
Besides offering a great value, we strive to treat each person visiting our stores like e would expect to be treated. We expect our sales people to be courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. That is all they are asked to do. They are never to ask for an order or try to sell you something, but are only here to help you buy what you want to buy. Their job is to show you everything we have to offer, and to answer every question you ever had about mattresses so you can select the bed that works best for you. Our goal is to take the mystery out of buying a mattress and sell a very good product at a very reasonable price in a relaxed, no-pressure atmosphere.
