Construction was begun on Emerald Village, North Olmsted's newest senior living community, in 2005, and the first resident was accepted in June 2007. Sponsored by and managed through Cleveland Catholic Charities, Emerald Village is one of the Cleveland area's only non-profit retirement communities. Although not directly associated with The Church of St. Clarence, Emerald Village is located next door to the church and receives considerable attention and support from Pastor Emeritus Thomas A. Flynn. We met recently with Director Pat Zingale, and listened as she described Emerald Village's services and offerings;
Emerald Village is an independent and assisted living community offering an exceptional value coupled with an exceptional lifestyle. Our residents enjoy active senior living filled with charm and hospitality in a neighborhood of friends and fun. Nearby, you'll find shopping, restaurants, clinics, and more, while inside, amenities and services abound.
We have 100 one and two bedroom independent living apartments that are bright and airy with full, all-electric kitchens, generous closet space, individually-controlled heating and cooling, wall-to-wall carpeting, and cable television hook-ups. In addition, a full range of supportive services are included, such as housekeeping, meals, and social and recreational programs.
Emerald Village is a licensed Residential Care Facility providing 30 studio and one bedroom assisted living suites with wall-to-wall carpeting, walk-in shower stalls, and a kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave oven. Assisted living suites come complete with a range of supportive services and amenities, including weekly housekeeping, weekly laundry, restaurant-style dining, social and recreational programs, and daily nursing and personal care. Additional levels of care are available on an as-needed basis.
Through the help of outside agencies, we are also able to provide hospice services and physical, occupational, and speech therapy on our campus. Soon to be certified for the Medicaid Assisted Living Waiver Program, we will be able to offer our services to those with limited financial resources who qualify for Medicaid.
Although sponsored by Catholic Charities, Emerald Village provides living arrangements for seniors regardless of their religious or social backgrounds. People of all faiths are welcome to enjoy the exceptional lifestyle we offer, and we encourage and support our residents as they endeavor to grow both socially and spiritually. Services are held here at Emerald Village every Thursday, and we provide transportation five days a week for those wishing to worship and attend mass at St. Clarence.
We strive to cater to all of our residents' needs. Our proximity to Bradley Woods nature area provides beautifully landscaped views complete with birds and wildlife, and our inviting outdoor patio is the perfect spot for relaxing with friends and family. Residents can enjoy delicious meals in our gracious dining room, and a private dining room is available for family gatherings. On-site amenities include a barber and beauty salon, library and computer center, an interdenominational chapel, comfortable lounges, and a large community room for gatherings, crafts, exercise classes, and other activities. We maintain our own bus to provide transportation for pleasure trips and activities, shopping trips, and transportation to and from medical appointments. Since many of our residents do not have family in the local community, one of our primary goals is to provide the support to enable them to maintain their independence and enjoy an active lifestyle.
An exceptional senior lifestyle, affordable living, and the amenities you enjoy can be found at Emerald Village. Call Pat Zingale or stop by Emerald Village today, and don't forget to tell them The North Olmsted, Ohio Community Advocate
