After working as a finisher for another cement contractor for seven years, Ted Pontremoli decided it was time to own his own business. He founded Quality Cement in 1983, and has been earning an enviable reputation for quality workmanship ever since. We visited with Ted recently, and listened as he described the services his company offers;
Quality Cement is a full-service concrete contractor serving the needs of Northeast Ohio's commercial, industrial, and residential market. We specialize in residential concrete flatwork, which includes driveways, sidewalks, patios, and stamped (decorative) concrete. We pour commercial parking lots and curbs, offer basement waterproofing, and provide snow removal services throughout the winter for our commercial customers.
I have built my reputation on doing top quality work and never cutting corners. I use superior strength products that exceed the requirements called for in the building codes of most cities. Although Northeast Ohio's unique climate prevents contractors from guaranteeing that poured concrete surfaces will not crack, I put a lot more stone under our driveways than most other concrete contractors to provide a stronger base and limit the potential for future cracking. My work not only looks good, but my customers also enjoy the peace of mind that comes from knowing that everything below the surface is of the highest quality, too. In fact, most of my work comes from customer referrals.
We can make concrete surfaces look like flagstone, brick pavers, and many other specialty materials through the use of a variety of decorative concrete stamping patterns and color combinations. This is a wonderful technique for giving the patios and sidewalks surrounding your home a distinctive appearance, although it is not an application I recommend for driveways in this part of the country.
When waterproofing basements, we excavate and remove all the dirt down to the footers and footer drains. We repair all the cracks in the basement walls, seal the walls with a plaster coat, and then add a water-repelling coat of tar. We replace all the old clay tile with four inch PVC, and then backfill with washed limestone to provide optimal drainage.
Quality Cement is licensed, bonded, and insured, and serves the entire west side of Cleveland, including the communities of Berea, Brooklyn, Middleburg Heights, North Olmsted, North Royalton, Parma, Parma Heights, Strongsville, and Westlake. I have been on Angie's List since its inception. I have my own crew and equipment, and am personally on the job site at all times to ensure our workmanship meets my high standards.
