Olmsted Manor Retirement Community, owned by Sovereign Healthcare, was opened in October 2000. Located adjacent to Olmsted Manor Care Center, the retirement community provides assisted and independent living services designed to complement the care center's skilled nursing support. We met recently with Patricia Zingale, Administrator and Director of Operations for Retirement Living, and listened as she provided this overview of Olmsted Manor Retirement Community's offerings;
Olmsted Manor Retirement Community is an assisted and independent living facility featuring luxurious efficiency, one and two bedroom suites and a wide variety of services tailored to meet our residents' individual needs and preferences. Our residents are of prime importance and we afford each of them the respect and dignity they deserve. Our objective is to provide the safest and most supportive environment in which our residents can continue to flourish in what can be the most meaningful years of their lives.
As a part of Sovereign Healthcare, we provide the entire continuum of care. From independent living with services to long-term care, we have the ability to meet the most specific needs. Our "Quality of Life" program provides additional personal care services to those whose needs have increased, enabling our residents to stay in their apartments while receiving the additional services they so richly deserve. For a single monthly fee, our residents are eligible to receive A.M. and P.M. care, personal hygiene, incontinence care, and escort to and from the dining room, activities, and beauty salon, in addition to walking, a bladder training program, additional laundry assistance, enhanced observation, and environmental support.
Each resident selects a private apartment ranging in size from a studio efficiency up to a two bedroom suite. Every apartment includes all utilities with the exception of telephone and cable, and comes complete with an efficiency kitchenette. Residents receive three chef-prepared meals a day, weekly housekeeping and laundry service, and a daily nursing and personal care package which can also include physician ordered medication administration.
Olmsted Manor Retirement Community also provides respite care as an alternative to returning home after a recent hospital stay or to provide alternative care while loved ones are out of town or on vacation. Our respite accommodations include a fully furnished apartment, independent living with services, out-patient therapy and wellness monitoring, three chef-prepared meals a day, and housekeeping and laundry services in a friendly, home-like atmosphere. When someone is considering moving to Olmsted Manor Retirement Community, they can stay in one of our respite units to give Olmsted Manor a try before making a final commitment and preparing to move their furnishings.
We provide ancillary services designed to make life at Olmsted Manor Retirement Community convenient for our residents, their families, and caregivers. Local pharmacies deliver directly to our door, and we have physicians, podiatrists, and mobile x-ray services that come in regularly to aid in our residents' care. We have a large handicapped-accessible van to take our residents shopping and to the bank, post office, library, and grocery store.
Our residents go on many trips throughout the year, such as going to Thistledown Racetrack, Amish Country, and Blossom Music Center. We have a full variety of in-house activities, too, including a low impact exercise program, bingo, trivia games, arts, and crafts.
Tours of our facility are available to interested parties seven days a week. By calling ahead to make arrangements, you can view our accommodations, attend an activity, and receive a complimentary lunch so you can try our food. We are very proud to be in North Olmsted, and would like to extend an open invitation to all to come in and visit our community.
